Fungsi Simple Present Tense

Pada postingan ini saya akan membahas sebuah tenses, yaitu present tense, fungsi present tense dan latihan soal. Ada beberapa fungsi present tense seperti:

1.To express habits
2.To give instruction or direction
3.To express fixed arrangements, present or future
4.To express future time, after some conjunction (after, when, before, as soon as, until)
5.To describe something

Apa saja contohnya:

1.To express habits(Untuk mengungkapkan kebiasaan yang kita lakukan setiap hari)

- I work in office every day.
- I am used to walking to school.
- He always comes late to school.

2.To give instruction or direction (Untuk memberikan arah dan instruksi atau perintah)

- You go straight to Rose street.
- You turn left after seeing cross road.

3.To express fixed arrangement and real or factual thing (Untuk menyatakan susunan yang jelas atau hal-hal yang fakta)

- The exam starts at 10.00.
- The sun rises from the east.
- The store closes at 7 p.m.
- I am a policeman.

4.To express future time, after some conjunction (Untuk mengungkapkan masa yang akan datang, setelah konjungsi, seperti when)

- Your father will give you money when you come to see him
- Tommy is going to give a presentation as long as his friends are in the classroom

5.To describe things (Untuk mendeskripsikan benda, seperti hewan, bangunan, nama tempat pariwisata, manusia dll)

- The bird has two wings
- The leaves are green
- He is taller than I am

Rumus Simple Present Tense

Positive : Subject + Verb 1 (es/s) + Complement

Negative : Subject + does/do + not + Verb 1 + Complement

Interrogative : Do/Does + Subject + Verb 1 + Complement + ?. 

Catatan:

Subject SHE, HE, IT (single) maka gunakan does
Subject THEY, WE, I, YOU (plural/jamak) maka gunakan do

Untuk Kata kerja yang berakhiran O, CH, X, SS, SH maka ditambah (es)di akhir kata.

Contoh:

O   : Go (goes)

CH : Watch (watches)

X    : Index (indexes) 

SS : Kiss (Kisses)

SH : wash (washes)

Contoh Kalimat Present Tense dan perubahan kalimatnya.

Di bawah ini adalah table contoh kalimat Simple present tense dan perubahannya affirmative, negative dan interrogative:

Time signals yang digunakan pada present tense

Untuk melihat pemahan teman-teman silakan kerjakan latihan di bawah. Ada dua latihan, yang pertama spoken dan yang ke dua written. Untuk spoken, teman-teman silakan berbicara berdasarkan panduan yang diminta. untuk written, silakan teman-teman menterjemahkan dan mengisi pada tempat yang disediakan.

1.Setiap hari saya pergi ke kantor.
2.Saya merawat tanaman dan menyiramnya setiap pagi.

4.Seorang perawat profesional selalu memberikan pelayanan terbaik.
5.Banyak dokter di Indonesia melanjutkan pendidikannya di luar negeri.

10.Aktifitas yang sering saya lakukan di akhir pekan adalah membantu kedua orang tua saya. Kadang-kadang saya menyapu, mengepel lantai. Setelah itu saya membersihkan kamar mandi. 
11.Polisi lalu lintas mengatur kemacetan setiap pagi.
12.Banyak pelaku kriminal mencoba melarikan diri dari penjara.
13.Setiap hari Sabtu, saya melatih Taekwondo kepada anggota saya.
14.Akhirnya, komando perang membebaskan tawanannya dengan syarat.
15.Paman saya adalah seorang polisi kehutanan di Sumatera Utara.
