Asking For and Giving opinion is an expression used to ask for someone's ideas, opinion, perception about an object seen which is requested by the listener.

Asking for and giving opinion, merupakan ekspresi yang dapat kita gunakan untuk memberikan pendapat tentang suatu objek yang kita lihat maupun  pendapat yang diminta oleh lawan bicara kita. Beberapa contoh ekspresi cara  meminta dan memberikan pendapat dengan bahasa Inggris adalah sebagai berikut.

Giving for opinion

Dialogue 1

Reno: Beni, What do you think about the best action to reduce global warming.

Beni: I think everyone should start changing their way of life.

Reno: What do you mean?

Beni: We have to start doing a betterment to reduce global warming by ourselves. 

Reno: How can we do it? Can you suggest me?

Beni: Well, there are lots of things we can do. We should start saving electricity, start recycling things, start using public transportation, buying and consuming as much as we need only, etc. 

Reno: Definitely! You know a lot of things about reducing global warming. Where did you learn it?

Beni:  I just read newspaper, magazines, and also search for information in internet. Actually, i want to inform what I’ve learned to everyone so that everybody can start helping to save our mother nature.

Reno: That’s great idea. I will do that.

Dialogue 2

Sando: Morning Reni. What are you doing?

Reni: Morning, i am writing new article about the use of Adjective in English.

Sando: So, do you like English?

Reni: Yes, i do. English is an international language. I have learned English since 2005.  English is used everywhere. Nowadays, many gadgets use English.  What’s your opinion about English? Do like using English?

Sando: No, i don’t. I think English is boring subject. It talks about grammar a lot. It was my experience in high school. My teacher did it and never spoke English in classroom.

Dialogue 3

Prof. Hilman : Good morning students.

Students: Good morning sir. 

Prof Hilman: Today we are discussing the story of Java. What do you think about Java?

Student (Reno): I think Java is smaller than Sumatera. Java has many traditional arts, such as batik, angklung as the traditional musical instrument. 

Student (Jaka): I personally think that Java is so crowded. Many big cities there, such as Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta. So the air is not fresh. That is why i like to stay in Sumatera.
