Recount Text

Kita pasti memiliki pengalaman di masa lalu. Misalnya kita pernah mengunjungi sebuah tempat wisata di salah satu wilayah di Indonesia. Contohnya mengunjungi Keraton Jogjakarta. Semua aktifitas yang kita lakukan di Keraton Jogjakarta dapat kita ceritakan kembali dengan menuliskannya menjadi sebuah teks yang disebut dengan Recount text.

Pada tulisan ini kita akan membahas bersama tentang Recount text. Kita akan melihat apa itu Recount text?, Apa fungsi sosial dari recount text, susunan recount text, ciri-citi recount text (characteristic of recount text), language features of recount text, dan contoh dari recount text.

Another term of Recount text is Personal Recount. It is a journal which is similar to diary. You write your past activity or past experience. Put it simply, Recount Text is a text that talks about someone personal experience in the past. It is similar to narrative. However, in the recount text uses the first-person point of view. That is i.

Istilah lain dari Recount Text adalah personal recount. Yaitu merupakan sebuah jurnal atau catatan pribadi. Kamu menuliskan aktifitas yang dikerjakan di masa lampau atau pengalaman yang sudah lewat. Secara sederhana, Recount text merupakan sebuah teks yang bertujuan untuk menceritakan pengalaman pribadi. Sama seperti naratif, namun Recount text lebih cenderung menekankan sudut pandang orang pertama. Yaitu "saya"

Fungsi sosial atau tujuan dari Recount Text. Recount text is used to entertain and to inform the reader about writer experience in the past.

Fungsi sosial dari recount text adalah digunakan untuk menghibur pembaca atau memberikan informasi tentang pengalaman penulis di masa lampau.

What is the generic structure of recount?

Apa susunan dari recount text?

Recount text ditulis dengan susunan sebagai berikut:

1. Orientation

Pada paragraf pertama disebut dengan orientation (orientasi). DI bagian ini kita menuliskan seperti; who was involved, what happened, tell about where the event took place, and when did it happen?

Yaitu menceritakan siapa yang terlibat, apa yang terjadi, dimana terjadinya kegiatan tersebut dan kapan terjadinya.

2. Events

On this part, we talk about what happened in chronological sequence.

Pada bagian ini kita menceritakan kegiatan yang kita lakukan secara kronologis.

3. Re-orientation

This is the ending of the story that consists of optional closure of events. The recap of story of the writer. It expresses the writer's feeling. Put it simply, the last paragraph is happy or sad ending. In addition to this, the writer can drop a message as well as her/his impression.

Bagian ini merupakan kesimpulan dari sebuah cerita yang ditulis. Penulis menyimpulkan bagaimana perasaannya saat melakukan perjalanannya. Apakah menyenangkan (fun), happy ending atau malah menyedihkan (sad ending). Selain itu, penulis juga dapat memberikan kesan dan pesan bagi para pembaca.

 

Ciri-Ciri Recount text (Characteristics of recount text).

There are some characteristics of recount text:

1. No conflict occurs 

Pada recount teks tidak ada konflik yang terjadi meliankan hanya sebuah perjalanan cerita saja. Hal ini berbeda dengan Naratif dimana naratif memiliki conflict (masalah).

2. The story is written chronologically

Recount text ditulis secara kronologis, yaitu berurutan sesuai dengan kejadian yang dialami penulis dari hari pertama, kedua, ketiga dan seterusnya sampai kapan penulis mengakhiri perjalanannya. 

Language features of recount text (Kaidah penulisan recount text)

1. Using The Simple Past Tense ( Menggunakan past tense).

2. Using action verb (Menggunakan kata kerja aksi).

Contohnya:

went, visited, walked, brought, swept, drank, slept, worked, dll. 

3. Using personal participant/ single person or thing (yaitu objek tertentu, sifatnya umum, dan sangat unik serta hanya satu)

4. Using linking verb.

5. Using adverb.

6. Using adverb phrase. 

7. Using time connectives. (Menggunakan konektifitas waktu).

8. Using chronological connection. (Menggunakan penghubung kronologi)

9. Using conjunction. (menggunakan penghubung).

Contoh Recount text

My Trip to Kashmir

When i was in India, my friends and i went to Kashmir. I went there in February. I headed from Hyderabad to Delhi then to Kashmir by plane. It was too chill as it was in winter season.

After long hours journey by flight, we arrived in Kashmir airport. The name of the airport is Srinagar Airport. When we got there, our taxi driver was all set to pick up us. Then we directed to the hotel to check in. The hotel was luxury and we felt so comfy. After a night to stay in, we planned to visit Pahalgam. Pahalgam is very nice place to play ski. You just paid 1000 Indian Rupees to rent it. Don't worry if you could not play it. There were many instructors to help you. As the condition got cold, we reserved a glass of hot tea which was mixed with zafron and Indian herbs to warm our body. We could not stand anymore with the weather. So, we determined to go back to Hyderabad.

Surely, it was such a fantastic trip. We really enjoyed. I suggested you visit Kashmir. The best time to visit is during the winter and autumn. However, you must get prepared and get to know about the condition as the weather can suddenly change.
